Depression and the Dark Night of the Soul

This is for people that are in a dark time and not quite sure why. It may seem like you are in a dark box with no way out. You turn to your religion but it does not feed you, and you pray to your God and hear nothing.

This may be the Dark Night of the Soul. A time of breaking you, destroying ego and smashing pride. It is painful and no end is in sight. You may be being broken so you can be ready for what is to come next, and in your present state you cannot handle it.

Or in psychological terms, your mind is shutting itself down because your current role model of the world isn't working. Your mind is saving you from insanity by restructuring your belief system.
