| This prayer request may bore you – it may be the same old laundry list of needs heard dozens of times before. But I need to pray it again, and I hope others will stand in agreement. My work situation is stable, but it has stabilized at a low level. I have never been ungrateful for having a paycheck, no matter the size, but it is growing insufficient for my need as I've aged. I'm a middle-aged man, living like I've just gotten out of high school. No wife, no family... just a 1-bedroom apartment with a rent I can afford with about half my pay. I'd like to think I am someday going to be worthy of something a little upward on the scale. I also would like to be able to afford to see a doctor and a dentist on a regular basis, but our current insurance package is a joke and I don't dare tap that option for anything except the most dire medical or dental emergency (which I'm living extra cautiously to avoid). Needless to say I battle depression, but can't afford any other help or medication besides my own will power. I see men my age leading fulfilled family lives, but I think I'm passed the age that romance or marriage are going to give me a belated welcome. My creative projects so far, have yielded nothing promising... I'm once again staring at the end of my rope, and sometimes I just don't know how to keep rephrasing the same old prayers. Without sounding too whiney or desperate, I pray once again that God will reach down here and put a new spin on this spiraling existence. In the holy name of Jesus, humbly, amen. |

God made us so that we can live to our best, be our best and enjoy the best things possible in our life. We are made not to try to survive alone or just 'make a living'. We are supposed to be great. I believe that through prayers and faith, nothing will be impossible for us to achieve.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me -Philippians 4:13-"
"Everything is possible for him who believes -Mark 9:23-"
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain move from here to there and it will move, nothing will be impossible for you -Matthew 17:20-"
"Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possessions -Psalm 2:6-"
"And the words of the Lord are flawless like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times -I have forgotten which book-"
Wow!!! What great promise that God has given to us. Cornerdesk, do we the faith as small as a mustard seed?
Father in heaven, forgive us for not realising that you have prepared for us lots of wonderful things in this world, waiting for us to go and get them. Forgive us for not having the faith even as small as a mustard seed so that we will be able to move mountains, even to do something as simple as making a better living. Father, we understand from the scripture that
"The Lord watches over all who loves him -Psalm 145:20-"
and that we can never fathom or even imagine what kind of greatness that you have prepared for us. Forgive us for our silliness, may you restore our faith in you as we pray for the things that we want, the goals that we have set for ourselves. May we take charge of our daily routine not to seek for things that you have prepared for us BUT to have the faith and strength and walk steadily with joy towards getting the gifts. Thank you father for your wonderful promise. Thank you father for your gifts. Hallelujah... May we learn to surrender our lives to you and to trust more in you. May we have the ability to pray to you for our needs and to wait patiently for them to be received (with ourselves to help in getting it). Thank you Lord, we come in your great name, Amen.
"Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you. For EVERYONE who asks receives, he who seeks finds and to him who knocks the door will be opened for him -Matthew 7:7-8-"
"According to your faith will it be done to you -Matthew 9:29-" |

AlfredPhua... yes, yes, yes. Thank you.
"Forgive us for our silliness" made me want to laugh, cry, and praise Him all at the same time. Thank you for your ongoing wisdom and enlightenment. This will definitely be in my prayers for the year!!
Thank everyone else who has read my post. In Jesus's name. |
