| My life has been so desperate and despaiting and now is so richly blessed, I pray the same for you and your father and mother. I did not quite understand the rules, but I pray God heals whatever is wrong with you. |

As a former Christian Scientist I would like to share a bit about the religion to dispel any misconceptions. It is a loving religion that is based entirely on prayer. Prayer in the religion is not asking for material things or health. Prayer in Christian Science is reaffirming the blessings of God. A practioner does not pray for things for a person who calls, they actively work on seeing the person as whole, reflecting God. And they help the caller understand that, to get past fear. The definition of God in Christian Science is Principal, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth and Love. If a Christian Scientist denies medical treatment that does not mean they a re denying treatment. It means they are relying on reaffirming that they already have health, they already have protection, peace of mind, all the things that they know come from God.
True prayers are always welcome in any religion. It is what brings people together, not tears them apart.
I am sure that a board that is based on prayers would be supportive of a person relying on them wholly if she chooses. And the prayers that would be of comfort would be those here that acknowledged that God does indeed love her, protect her, comfort her.
That she is always His child and has His Love ever present. To portray her as sad, abandoned, any negative is not a help to her. In Christian Science there is a belief of malpractice. That is assigning beliefs to a person that don't belong to God. It would be no comfort to her to see herself portrayed in a negative manner.
I appreciate this opportunity to explain that while a person's prayers are appreciated no matter, it makes their prayers that much harder when they hear negative feelings or adjectives used in describing them.
I applaud all of you who are truly offering prayers. It is much needed to help, others and ourselves. It is in giving love that we receive it. I keep you all in my prayers, that your situations come to a beautful unfolding.

Turntheothercheek,
I am moving your post to the Power of Prayer section where it will be more appropriate, as it is not strictly speaking a prayer request. |
